이색 선물, ‘구무사이(Gumusay) .357 매그넘’ 리볼버 권총

 

튀르키예(과거 터어키)의 레제프 타이이프 에르도안 대통령이 앙카라에서 열린 나토 정상회담에 참석한 각국 정상들에게 실탄이 들어있는 권총을 선물해 이색 화제로 떠올랐다.

 

이 총기는 1990년대 튀르키예 총기 제조업체 MKE가 생산한 희귀한 6연발 리볼버 권총으로 인 ‘구무사이(Gumusay) .357 매그넘’으로 알려졌다.

 

선물 상자에는 튀르키예 국기, 나토 로고, 튀르키예어와 영어로 “우리나라에서 생산된 최초의 리볼버형 권총, 구무사이”라고 적힌 명판이 들어 있었다.

 

이와같은 권총 선물은 세계에서 세 번째 소형무기 수출국인 튀르키예의 방위산업을 내세우기 위한 외교 전략이고 보는 평가이다.

A unique gift, a “Gumusay (Gumusay) .357 Magnum” revolver pistol

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey (formerly Turkey) presented a pistol containing live ammunition to the leaders of each country attending the NATO summit in Ankara, and it became a unique topic of conversation.

This firearm is known as the “Gumusay (Gumusay) .357 Magnum,” a rare 6-shot revolver pistol produced by Turkish gun manufacturer MKE in the 1990s.

The gift box contained the Turkish flag, the NATO logo, and a nameplate with the words “The first revolver-type pistol produced in Korea, Gumusai” in Turkish and English.

This kind of handgun gift is viewed as a diplomatic strategy to establish the defense industry of Turkey, the world's third largest exporter of small arms.
